:confused: hi,
my receipt number starts from EAC... does that mean my service center is vermont? after i got the below status online i have not recevied any response and my lawyer says he has not received anything.. shall i go ahead and take appointment in August/Sept or should i wait ?

I'm facing a frustrating issue and am hoping that someone can provide help on this. I'm on my H1 10th year extn. My I-140 (EB-3) was recently approved and I cannot apply for I-485 as the visa dates are not available. My Company recently changed their name from ABC, doing business as XYZ, to DEF, doing business as XYZ (the doing business as part of the name is the same and there was no merger, just a name change).
My first question is does this invalidate my approved I-140 and should I refile the I-140. Also, when I file my H-1 extension what document should I provide to prove the name change (or is it even needed?)? Any help on these 2 questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For many naturalized citizens, service in the United States military was the key to earning that citizenship. Are you sure she is talking about EB immigration on Apr1st, the day when USCIS starts receiving H1B lotto applications? I will be surprised if networks are willing to talk NON H1B issues on APR 1st.

If the employer agrees not to revoke the 140, Can I change the employer after getting EAD. 485 application is pending but less than 180 days.
My project is getting over, and it seems hard to find a h1b job.

It is a well known fact that the h1-b bodyshoppers/IT consulting companies exploit the system(laws) and their employee's for their own ends.
When everyone knows that these body shoppers are filing all the 65k h1's in one day for the jobs that are non existant with them, why no one is questioning it ?
These companies are not only grabbing all the available quota of h1's for locking in the techies(employees) and exploiting them but at the same time depriving the actual real companies (where work is done) from hiring the h1b techies.
Am just amazed at this pesudo demand of h1b created by these cyotes, isnt there any law to prohibit such malpractise/ cheating of the system ?
Also how can Attorney's and Law firms help in filing these made-up h1's are not they under oath to not do such malpractise ?

My attorney sent a letter with approved I-140 copy to reconsider the decission on I-485. No change in the status online so far (3 days passed). I will wait for another week and apply MTRs for me and my wife.

I recently got my EB1 I-140 approved. Now my lawyer wants to apply for the I-485 but I am unemployed currently. What are my options in this case? Do I show I am self-employed and apply the I-485 or wait till I get a job.
Just as a background I already have a EB2 Employer based I-485 in process and therefore have the EAD and AP in hand. The EB2 I-485 was applied in 2007 so it is past the 180 days period.
Urgent help will be greatly appreciated.

I thought labor cert is tied to a specific position and once I change my profile completely (say from software engineer to product management) I need to re-apply PERM eventhough I work for the same company.

My current employer is not my original sponsor. I changed jobs after the "180 days post I-485 receipt" policy. Now, I'm interested to accept an offer (similar job) in another state. How will this affect my I-485 if I'm changing employers for the 3rd time and this time, at another state?

It looks to me like they made a mistake on the valid dates for the new EAD. That happened to me last year, I received my new EAD card and it was only good for 1.5 months.
I had to mail them the card and after a couple of calls and some headaches they sent me a new EAD card, this time valid for 2 years.
