I heard some radio jocks this morning say that they think this whole Charlie Sheen thing is a bit. Kinda like the whole Joaquin Phoenix thing or a radio shock jock who just goes way over the top. Of course the partying and lifestyle is real, but they were talking about this present media tour and the crazy talk he's spouting. It all equals more publicity for him, the network, and the show.

After thinking about it this explanation sounds pretty reasonable. If it's not that, then as many have said he's had a break with reality of some sort and the eventual end is not going to be pretty.

I watched the Piers Morgan interview......I still think he's ****ing with people.

I've met a bunch of Hollywood types, and for some of them, their reality is not the same as our reality.

It must just be where I live but...everyone I know uses AIM, ichat, or adium (my weapon of choice) I dont have a single friend that uses yahoo or msn

It does vary quite a lot by where you live. Living in Sweden (and coming from the UK) just about everyone I know uses MSN.

so instead you're going to store them all on multiple machines? what do you think the cloud is for? lol

    Uh no...

You need to follow the thread. The poster was using his 2 TB drive as his cloud using a 5$ software.

I'll make the assumption that I'm going to lose the vote so I'll get some last analysis in while I can.

Make note of the people who voted for me.

Jav - Still not sure if he voted for me to silence me or because he was still mad at me for the last game. He is acting (voting) the same way he did last game.

Based on the above info, UCF is the best probability of getting a WW tomorrow. If UCF is a WW, then it's most likely that either Nies or Eldiablojoe is the other one.

Hardly voting same way as last time. Also, I'm voting against you for previously stated reasons. When the game started I got my PM which was also sent to you. Because of that (me wanting to feel special it was a unique own PM) I vote for you this game.

However people didn't get the joke. As per silencing you, meh... Could care less since I am no wolf, not that I can prove that in any way or form.

What's that other program that lets you run windows without an actual copy? Maybe I'll use that. Wait, are they even supporting Vista or just XP?

Oh I found it: CrossOver Mac. Not sure if it will support Vista though.

I should have elaborated in my first post but regardless, his reply was uncalled for.

My thoughts exactly. Reeks of collusion and I could see lawsuits flying over this.

In what way does this reek of collusion?

Add a third option, 24" with a 16:10 ratio and a matte option. Easier on the eyes and more vertical space. The 27" was murder on my eyes and I had to sell mine.

I love my 27' so much!! I will buy another hopefully next week, even though I don't need it.

    The challenge

    DESIGN A PHONE!

    Conditions

    1. Must be black.
    2. Must be metal with no sharp edges (rounded edges) and be as simplistic as possible. Camera.
    3. Touchscreen (no slide out keyboard)
    4. Ergonomically friendly and look nice.
    5. User interface to be nice and on par with present day interfaces (no 1990s looking icons).
    6. Docking interface.

They are all going to look similar.

MS seemed to be able to get by without appropriating the look of Apple's interface.

Wait, for something to have meaning it must have emotions attached to it ? Whatever happened to cold objective debate ?

Meaning is derived from the content, not from the emotions behind the statements. We're in a debate of facts, not in a subjective discussion. Emotionality has no place in the text.

That's not what I meant. You're trying to mix things up now. All you said was:

    'Written text has no emotionality.'

You sounded as if it were a general statement or a fact which is absolutely false.

Or am I not understanding what you mean here ? My post was objective in that I was not refusing to view the evidence, I just found his evidence to be contradictory and self-refuting and thus not applicable. I stated it as such and further explained when told I was "refusing to see" something that just wasn't there to begin with.

There was nothing to "cool down".

The only reason why I said 'cool down' was because he did mention in his last post that his citation isn't consistent with any fact. And then you...

His statement was not an argument. It was as a fact. And the Engadget article is not a citation to support the fact since it has been refuted by CNET, according to the very source AppleCorps used initially, TechCrunch.

He did rest his argument down, but you didn't.

    Cool down *.

    *Conditions Apply.

    - Only if you haven't already.
    - Only if you were 'cooled' down in the first place.

  • iOS v Android
    Apr 29, 02:42 PM
Yes. I am sure the number 3-25 top selling smartphones all have hardware keyboards.

The 1 and 2 are both Apple iPhones and they don't have them though.

I suspect the sales figures of the iPhone 4 and 3GS probably surpass the top 8-10 Android devices combined.

That is called marketplace domination. Clearly a lot of people here don't have much business experience or understand how business works, but such control of a marketplace is significant, especially given the number of devices available for sale.

Does HTC sell more smartphones than Apple? Does Motorola? How about Samsung? No, no and no.

I believe samsung is the highest selling smartphone manufacturer when you take into account that it does have its own OS that it still sells. They are currently the highest selling phone manufacturer. It is difficult to compete with the iPhone. One factor many of you are simply ignoring is that if you want iOS on your phone you have to buy an iPhone. If you want android you do not have to buy a nexus. Limiting the amount of models that run the software will funnel all the sales into those models. It makes since when you think about it.

The second thing is do people consider the phone "families". Like how Samsung makes the Galaxy S then they redo it several times in the Year. They release it on different carriers with slightly different bodies and button layout and different radios. It happens their is a Galaxy S phone on every major US Carrier. The LG Optimus 1 is on every US carrier but Boost mobile.

OR another reason: Apple decided to go verizon exclusive and ATT is shunned.

That sounds like a very solid business decisions. I predict Apple making billions with that move.

I get about the same drop rate or worse in the DC Metro area. I also have friends on AT&T that have their text messages go to the wrong person. Thinking seriously of getting a Verizon BB and an iPod Touch to replace my iPhone. :(:(:( Sorry :apple:

Sorry? You'd be buying another Apple device ...

I was looking to verify that . . . it blows now that I know. I didn't want to have to spend the extra $200 for HT.

Hyperthreading hardly matters. It's already a quad core designed to shut off two of the cores for better performance. The minor boost to the i7 is almost always going to be attributed to the higher clockrate and the 2MB additional L3 cache.

There are some very specific scenarios and synthetic benchmarks that will use 8 threads effectively, but very few real world users will notice any benefit from Hyperthreading. Most everyone will notice a higher clock rate and more L3 cache. It's probably more fruitful for people to decide if $200 is worth 300more Mhz and 2MB additional L3, I would say those factors alone is worth around 11 - 13% performance boost, and constitutes a 10% higher cost.

This quarter, Macs accounted for $2.213 billion in revenue. iPods accounted for $1.559 billion, plus another $452 million in music-related revenue, for a total of $2.011 billion. So, even without counting Mac peripherals and software, music revenue was less than Mac revenue.

Last quarter, Mac revenue was $1.866 billion, while iPods sold $1.497 billion, plus another $457 million in other music-related revenue, for a total of $1.954 billion for the music end.

Got it, thanks. Makes sense now that I read the PDF on Apple's site.

We should try to pump up the team with these new bigadv units.
This team slowed down huge when the GPU client came out, which is Windows only.

I'm just curious if the projected combined CMA / HSPA chips to be included in the iPhone would support HSPA+? That would at least give us some extra speed for iPhone 5. I don't think the current AT&T iPhone 4 does support HSPA+ - unless I'm mistaken.

    Tony
No, it doesn't. I am excited for HSPA+ support because my carrier has had it rolled out completely for over a year.
